Jennifer Lopez might have told us her love don't cost a thing, but in the video for her next single, "Me Haces Falta" - from her Spanish-language debut album, Como Ama una Mujer - the singer's character definitely learned that there's a price to pay for a lover scorned.
"[It's] basically about someone who is missing someone so much and has done something so wrong to the person that they know they can't fix it," Lopez explained last week from the Los Angeles set of the video. "So they just hate themselves right in that moment, they can't stand [it], they regret everything that they did and they wish they could change things. It's basically about missing somebody terribly.
"The concept is basically I am somebody who can't be with somebody because of what I do and what he does," J. Lo continued. "So there is a kind of hopelessness and helplessness in the fact that they can't be together because of their lives, their lifestyle. And it's that huge obstacle we wanted to put in the video, where they actually could not be together, which makes them miss each other so much."
The video features several revealing scenes, including an important park scene, according to Lopez, but the singer was reluctant to go into too much detail regarding the clip.
"I don't wanna give it away," she laughed. "Basically they are getting to know each other and kind of falling for each other, and in this video, it's not a good thing, as you'll see how it ends up
